We offer two communal pools to choose from – heated during summer months only - please note that the pools are not enclosed and that the temperatures might be influenced by the weather at any time.
At Shangrila you can sit back and relax by the crystal clear swimming pools and read that book you have wanted to read for such a long time while the kids are at the play park where they can enjoy themselves on the trampoline, swings or even just laze around on the luscious lawns and gardens.
Is animal encounters on your list of things to do during your African holiday? (Surely so…) Shangrila Innibos Country Lodge is a wise choice of base, being less than 10 minutes' walk from the elephant and monkey sanctuaries. And that's not it for the critter experiences: Hartbeespoort is also home to animal parks dedicated to the likes of cheetahs, lions and snakes, so you're seriously well-placed to get acquainted with native beasts.
But the sights don't stop there, as there's some pretty mountainous scenery to get to grips with nature here too. The surrounding Magaliesberg mountain range and Hartbeespoort Dam put all sorts of sporty things within easy reach, both on land and in the water. A popular choice here is the Aerial Cableway Hartbeespoort, where gorgeous views of the Magaliesburg peaks and Hartbeespoort Dam are waiting at the top. While at the dam, take to the water with a boat or ferry cruise from Harties Watersports Centre, or - if you're feeling brave - opt for one of their more extreme activities, like tube rides, banana boating, jet skiing and speedboat rides.
Outdoorsy activities nailed, it's back to base for a deserved dip after a busy day. For the ultimate in relaxation, a fab collection of treatments at Shangrila Innibos' spa - massages, facials, hand and foot treats are all on the menu.
Stomachs aren't forgotten, either - the on-site restaurant dishes up traditional home-cooked meals, and "Boma fires" and Braais are permitted if you fancy rustling up your own nosh. The playground and pools should keep the kids entertained while eats are sorted (or allow parents a little chill out time).
